Brune Clavette

Brune Clavette D.AC.,RMT, ADS  has been practicing traditional chinese acupuncture  and manual therapies such as cranio-sacral and massage  for over 25 years. She has been a presenter and participant at the Nurturing Ourselves conference for over 15 years.

Coretta  Abbott

Coretta is a licensed Automotive Technician who originates from Musgrave Harbour, NL.  She has been a resident of Fredericton, NB since 1994.  She started her career as a mechanic in 1995 at a Fredericton auto body shop where she dismantled cars. By 1997, she was installing mufflers and brakes at a local muffler shop.  In 2000, she apprenticed at a car dealership and upon completion of her apprenticeship, returned to the muffler shop.  Since 2004, she has been a civilian vehicle technician at CFB Gagetown.

  

Over the years there have been a few struggles being accepted as 'one of the guys'.  It got easier as she became a more knowledgeable, experienced and better mechanic and learned how to work in a male-dominated field.  It has been a very positive experience and continues to be so.

Donna Somerville

Donna has been a full time Spiritual Medium for ten years and has been in the Personal Development field since 1988.  Her training includes Reiki Mastery, Certified Rebirther, and practitioner in MariEl, Cellular Pattern Release and Trauma Release (TRE).  Donna uses her "intuitive listening" to help others discover, explore and develop into the best person they can be. www.donnasomerville.com

Ellen Tucker

Ellen is the owner of Freedom Travel and a CBC Radio One travel columnist for Shift.  Born in New Brunswick, she has lived on three different continents and travelled to all but Antarctica.  With her 30-year career in the travel business she has worked in many sectors of the industry including travel agent, tour director, tour operator and cruise line sales.

Jane Buckley

Jane Buckley has been with Family Enrichment and Counselling Services for 19 years, doing personal consumer counseling.  She holds qualifications in Personal Financial Planning, Insolvency Counselling, Mediation, and Critical Stress Management. Jane has lived in Fredericton since 1976.

Jennifer Lee Donovan

Jennifer is a lawyer at Kenny & Murray who lives and works in Fredericton.  She has practiced law for the past five year at Kenny & Murray, mainly practicing in the areas of family law, wills & estates and property.  She is originally from Miramichi, NB.  Jennifer graduated from UNB Law School in 2004 and was called to the NB Bar in 2005. 

Kathryn Weaver

Kathryn is a nurse clinician with a private practice treating women with eating disorders, associate professor at UNB, member of board of directors of Eating Disorder Council of New Brunswick, and nurse researcher who has investigated recovery from eating disorders. She became involved in eating disorder care when her best friend developed bulimia nervosa as a first year university student.

Linda Morehouse

Linda Morehouse is a registered social worker who is trained in a variety of energy healing techniques such as Reiki, Reflexology, Meditation, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).   She also completed an intense 8-week “Weight Loss With EFT” course with Dr. Carol Look.  Throughout the year Linda offers one-day workshops on a variety of issues such as weight loss, anxiety and smoking cessation.

Marilyn Noble

Marilyn is a seasoned adult educator who is intrigued, both personally and professionally, by how women are navigating midlife.  Baby Boomers continue to carve a new path across the lifespan, and as we age, we’re redefining our approach to the aging process and the way society views women who have already accumulated a good deal of life experience.

 

Michele Madore

Michele is a Wealth Advisor with ScotiaMcLeod and has been in the industry for over 22 years.  Michele has become well known in the industry for having a keen ability to guide individuals and families through the maze known as wealth planning.  Michele’s education and experience is in many areas of financial planning such as, but not limited to, transitioning to retirement, will and estate planning, investment strategy and taxation, insurance concepts and succession planning.

Nancy Oxner, Nurse Practitioner

Nancy Oxner has been a nurse for the last 26 years. She has worked in several different provinces and in many different areas of health care. She has a Masters Degree in Nursing and has been a Nurse Practitioner in the Fredericton area for the last 5 years.

Nancy Rideout

Nancy has been a police officer for over 12 years.  Presently she is working as the School Resource Officer at FHS.  Before her policing career,  she worked with troubled youth in group homes.  Nancy has her Bachelor degree from Dalhousie University.  The majority of her studies were in Child Development.  Nancy has always been passionate about youth.  She is a single mother of one beautiful four year old girl.

Parissa Bunin

Dr. Bunin has a B.Sc. from UNB and studied massage therapy at both the Dunedin College of Health (New Zealand) and Kine Concept (New Brunswick).  She completed the program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.  Parissa is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the NB Massotherapy Association. She has been registered as a Massage Therapist since 1995, and is a certified acupuncturist with the Canadian Association of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Parissa operates the Fredericton Naturopathic Clinic together with her husband, Dr. Judah Bunin.

Sarah Vannier

Sarah is currently completing her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of New Brunswick under the supervision of Dr. Lucia F. O’Sullivan.  Her research focuses primarily on sexual activity and relationships during emerging adulthood.  Sarah has presented her work at both national and international conferences, facilitated workshops, and led discussion groups on a variety of sexuality-based topics.

Sue Short

Sue is a teacher and adult educator with extensive experience facilitating workshops in such areas as parenting, workplace wellness, journaling, spirituality and creative arts. Photography, journaling, meditation, gardening and a tiny perfect granddaughter, help to nourish her spirit.

Susan McGibbon, B.A., MEd., CCC

Susan McGibbon has 35 years professional experience working with children and adolescents and has an extensive education in child development issues and behavioural disorders.  She is a full-time instructor in Early Childhood Education at the New Brunswick Community College in Fredericton and also teaches Counselling the Young Child at the Faculty of Education, UNB.  Susan has been married for 45 years, is a mother of three, and grandmother of nine wonderful people ranging in age from one month to 17 years old.

Suzanne Mason

Suzanne is the proud grandmother of 5-year-old India and

8-month-old Zai, both of whom live in Queensland Australia.   In 2007, following a 31-year career in the civil service, Suzanne retired from her position as Director of Sport, Recreation and Active Living for the Province of New Brunswick.  She recently completed the Atlantic Jubilee Program in Spiritual Deepening and Spiritual Guidance.    "My goal," says Suzanne, "is to let my love shine and live my life with integrity, gratitude and enthusiasm."

Sylvia Priestley-Brown

Sylvia has been an organics and health food enthusiast and avid cook going back many years.  Learning and spreading the word about the availability of organic food in our community is a passion she frequently shares with others.   Her academic background is in literature, philosophy, and Women’s Studies.  She taught Adult Education for nine years at five post-secondary institutions, and has worked as freelance writer and editor, and administrator for non-profit agencies in heritage and culture.  She currently works for the provincial government.

She is married to a visual artist and is the mother of a teenage daughter.  The whole family has been gravitating more and more towards eating organically in recent years.

New Brunswick's 20th Annual Conference

on Women's Health and Well Being
